FCC Boss Calls Comcast Traffic Shaping 'Troubling'
After denying that there would be a network neutrality conference held at Stanford, FCC Chief Kevin Martin went on to hold that event. At that hearing, he claimed to be “troubled” by Comcast’s traffic-shaping policies.
"One of the most important and one of the most troubling aspects of the complaints in front of us is that at first the network operator denied that they were engaged in this kind of a practice publicly," Martin told conference attendees.
The FCC is currently investigating Comcast's throttling of upstream P2P traffic. As we made clear after watching the recent hearing in Harvard, it's pretty clear that if Martin does anything at all, it will be to fine Comcast simply for not being honest. Although he didn’t say specifically how or when he wants to resolve the Comcast issue, Martin did announce that he would like to “wrap up the FCC's consideration of network-management complaints by June” of this year.
